In recent years, we’ve been feeling it from every direction, people aren’t just stepping outside, they’re bringing the sofa, the rug, and the standards with them. The yard, the balcony, even that little rooftop corner, they’re becoming an inseparable part of the home, of the experience, of daily life. And it’s not just a trend. It’s a deep global shift that’s only growing stronger.

At Niso, we’ve seen this happen firsthand. We’ve been designing and selling outdoor furniture for a few years now, but in 2024 we decided to take it further and give it a real space; in our showroom, on our website, and in our design language. The main wall on our entrance floor has transformed into a dedicated outdoor area: a bright and open space visible from the moment you walk in, thanks to a large frameless glass wall that brings in light and greenery. Step through the clear glass door to the right, and you’ll find yourself on a deck made of Burmese teak. That moment, standing outside and looking around, feels more like an Italian patio or a secret garden in the woods than a corner in Florentin.

People are looking for air, and they’re finding it at home.

It’s no surprise. Data from recent years shows a sharp rise in the use and attention given to outdoor spaces. According to a survey by Better Homes & Gardens, 71% of respondents reported spending more time outdoors than in the past, an average of seven hours a week. 63% are planning to purchase new outdoor furniture, and 91% said that having a private outdoor space is a key factor when choosing where to live. People aren’t just stepping outside, they’re bringing their comfort and aesthetics with them.

As we live, work, host, and relax more at home, we crave variety — and the outdoor space offers exactly that. It’s not just a view through the window. It can become another living room, another dining room, another quiet corner. And it works even without a large backyard. All it takes is a thoughtful design, the right materials, and a bit of care.

What makes the outdoors a space you want to live in?

When we began designing our new outdoor collection, we knew we had to stay true to our values — comfort, design, durability. But outdoor living demands something more: sensitivity to a changing environment.
The Duba armchair, in its outdoor version, wraps the body just like its indoor counterpart, only this time with outdoor materials that feel like natural fabric but withstand sun, wind, and even rain.
The Amur coffee tables are designed to work both as a pair and independently, one round, the other with a geometric cutout that lets them fit together seamlessly, perfect for the typical Israeli balcony.
The new Elinor collection keeps our signature look, bold round legs, soft curves, real comfort, all adapted for the outdoors. Each piece comes with custom-made covers, designed specifically to protect them over time.

The world is turning green

Anyone who visited this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan saw it clearly: outdoor furniture is no longer a niche. Every major brand presented an outdoor collection. Even global brand Tom Dixon, now available in Israel through Niso, launched its first-ever garden furniture line this past January, alongside lighting and accessories designed for outdoor use. What was once an add-on is now the core of every contemporary home.

The British design brand launched its first-ever Outdoor collection this year, and it’s everything you’d expect from a boundary-pushing name like theirs. The series includes chairs, tables, and benches made of cast aluminum, featuring distinctly British geometric lines and textures that feel almost engraved. Alongside the furniture, a new line of outdoor lighting was introduced — highly durable, yet with an elegant aesthetic that blends into any space as if it were made for indoors. The collection exudes raw sophistication, not trying too hard to feel inviting, yet somehow achieving exactly that.

What about you?

We’re not writing this to convince you, we’re here to invite you to think. Sometimes all it takes is a new perspective on a small outdoor area to realize there’s more potential there. That a garden isn’t just for barbecues. That a balcony deserves more than just gray tiles. When you put thought into it, the entire home feels it.

We invite you to visit our showroom, explore the dedicated outdoor furniture section right here on our website, and experience what happens when you give the outdoors a central role.
