Founded in 2010 in the vibrant city of Saigon, District Eight embodies the spirit of Vietnam’s cultural crossroads. Over the years, Vietnam has absorbed layers of influence, from the French colonial era, through ancient Asian traditions, to modern Western design, and all these elements converge within the brand’s material and aesthetic language. The name itself refers to one of Saigon’s historic districts, yet what truly defines District Eight is the way it transforms traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary language, combining original ideas and refined materials that come to life through a meticulous process from concept to creation.
Collaborations with world-renowned designers such as Jean-Marie Massaud, Monica Förster, Michele De Lucchi, and others have strengthened District Eight’s position as a global brand that brings Vietnamese design to the world stage. Through uncompromising quality and the ability to merge culture, craft, and modernity, District Eight has expanded far beyond Vietnam, with a presence in Asia, Europe, and the United States, including international divisions. The result is a brand that connects emotion, experience, and design, offering not just beautiful objects, but meaningful creations with cultural depth and personality.
Exclusive Representation in Israel
From our very first encounter with District Eight at the Milan design fair, it was clear we spoke the same language. At Niso, just like them, we bridge traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies that allow for fast, precise, and fully customized production. Though relatively young, District Eight carries a sense of experience and depth that makes their work feel timeless, as if they have always belonged in our world.
We are proud to be the official representatives of District Eight in Israel, bringing the brand’s world directly to local audiences. Internationally, District Eight is featured in select showrooms across Asia, Europe, and the United States, where it has earned recognition as one of the leading contemporary design brands. At our Tel Aviv gallery, visitors can explore a curated selection of their pieces on display, or order directly from the full global catalog. This dual experience, direct inspiration and complete customization, allows our clients to enjoy the best of both worlds, a seamless blend of international design and local craftsmanship, just as we have done at Niso for over five decades.
The Collections, Between Sculpture and Function
The Inumbra collection, designed by Michele De Lucchi, offers modular shelving systems that shape entire spaces, from floor-to-ceiling double-sided bookcases that also serve as room dividers, to wall-mounted units of varying heights and decorative columns with integrated storage.
The Torus collection focuses on coffee tables that are almost sculptural, combining marble bases, metal frames, and solid wood tops in a composition that conveys both strength and elegance.
Lodge, created in collaboration with Jean-Marie Massaud, draws inspiration from travel and stories of exploration in Vietnam. The collection includes folding chairs, stools, and accessories that combine wood and fabric in a refined balance between function and sophistication.
Collette, an elegant collection designed by Adam Goodrum, was born as a contemporary wooden piece that pays homage to traditional Vietnamese script. Its soft, vertical lines and sculptural backrest evoke a sense of both grace and endurance, blending craftsmanship with modern poise.
And alongside these, the Games Collection, a reinterpretation of classic games crafted with artistic precision. These are not just leisure pieces but design objects that bridge play and craftsmanship. Among them, the brand’s iconic Foosball Table, made from cast iron, oak, and concrete, has become a statement piece in inspiring spaces around the world, and now, proudly, in our Tel Aviv gallery.
Niso Today, A Hub of Worlds
