Details:

A refined object that blurs the line between game and design.

The Chess Set by District Eight draws inspiration from traditional Vietnamese court attire, translating heritage into a contemporary, sculptural language. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted, balancing presence and precision, turning every match into a tactile, almost meditative experience.

The board is made from smoked oak and ash wood, carefully selected and finished by hand to achieve depth, warmth, and subtle contrast. Cylindrical steel legs add both stability and a clean architectural detail, allowing effortless movement when needed.

The chess pieces are cast in aluminum with brass and black finishes, designed with a distinct, stylized character. Each piece is padded with felt, offering a soft, satisfying touch that enhances the rhythm of play.

More than a game, it is a piece you live with.
